Happened to stumble across this blog whilst meandering almost aimlessly on the net. Almost I say coz the only search text was pakistani politics. The link was an interesting and insightful read...I didn't know about the website it was on either so something gained. Maybe someone can help put me on the right track. I'm actually putting together some background info about various happening places in Pakistan for a trip me and a few friends are organising. Five of us, (he says fingers crossed), or maybe just me are planning to travel across Pakistan for three weeks taking in the culture, fashion sense, food, music and dare I say it, politics. Its going to be the first time we'd all come over there ostensibly on our own despite all of us belonging to diaspora Pakistani families. So any helpful hints of places, hideouts, eateries, people to see and experience would be appreciated by young hip people in the know. Apologies if this is something completely at a tangent to the topic at hand but I've been up for 43 hours straight and I'm fasting (Ramadhan mubarak by the way!) which isn't an excuse for incoherence but I've gotta be on a flight to Paris in the next 8 hours so wanted to get this in before I left. Peace out. Who knows maybe I'll even register next time and become a hanger on in this fashionable cyber hang out!! Shak
I am an outsider. Some say Musharaff must go and allow democracy. Some say Benazir and Nawaz should never be allowed back. Is there no middle path? Having to bear all these old guys and waiting for young leaders to emerge is a pain. I guess few generations either avoided or were not allowed into politics and that is hurting our nations. Why is it that, we can't name even 10 people who are capable of guiding nation? Why is it that we are forced to believe after Mr X, country will go into ruins. I guess, we must pray for anarchy at times, for something better to emerge.
